New in the Feed: The 865 Pulse’s Countdown to Kickoff

Rocky Top Insider, All For Tennessee, UT Sports, the Daily Beacon, Knox TN Today, the Tony Basilio Show — that’s been the lineup pulling into the homepage since we rebuilt this site. Starting today, there’s a seventh voice in the mix: The 865 Pulse.

It’s a YouTube channel doing something we haven’t seen anyone else try: a daily countdown to kickoff, one video a day, each one built around a real moment from Tennessee football history. Today it’s 1929 and Bobby Dodd’s Vols with Gene McEver leading the nation in scoring. Tomorrow it might be Neyland Stadium in the ’90s or a bowl game from decades before either of us were born. The voices and music are AI-generated — the channel says so right up front — but the stories are real, the history checks out, and there’s not a sportsbook ad in sight. 😎

If you’re the type who’ll click on a random 1998 championship deep-dive at 11pm on a Tuesday, this is going to scratch the same itch, one day closer to the season at a time.
